About

West Coast WikiConference will be an unconference format where interested participants can propose talks and topics for the program on the wiki beforehand and in person at the conference, with some pre-planned talks and events. Please add your ideas for the program to the Program page. We also have two fabulous keynote speakers -- Ward Cunningham and Kevin Kelly. The conference will be followed by a special afterparty to celebrate Wikipedia's 10th birthday (starting at 6:30pm) hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation; all conference attendees are invited.

This is the first-ever regional Wikimedia-focused conference in the Western U.S., and is one of many celebrations happening around the world for Wikipedia's 10th anniversary. We hope that the whole West Coast will be represented, and community members from other locations are welcome as well :)

If you're attending, in addition to registering on EventBrite please consider adding your name to the attendees list.

Party

There will be a special after hours birthday party for Wikipedia, sponsored by the Wikimedia Foundation. It will be held at GAFFTA (Gray Area Foundation for the Arts), at 55 Taylor Street. The party starts at 6:30 and all conference attendees are invited; you will need your conference badge and arrive between 6:30 and 7:30 to gain entrance (after that it's first come, first served).
